The model family

Seedance, without a subscription.

Seedance is a text-to-video model built by ByteDance and offered through Dreamina. This page explains what the versions actually do, which one suits which shot, and what a single clip costs here - from $0.11, paid one video at a time.

What it is

One sentence in, one finished video out.

A text-to-video model takes a written description and renders moving footage from it. There is no timeline, no keyframes and nothing to edit: you describe the shot you want - the subject, the camera, the light - and a few minutes later a video file exists that did not exist before.

Seedance is one of those models. What separates the versions is not really what they can depict but how well they hold a shot together while things move, and how long a take they will run for. A still-ish scene looks much the same on either. A camera push through a crowd does not.

Running a model like this normally means a Dreamina account and a monthly plan. Here it means a balance. You put in a few dollars, each clip draws its own price from it, and a clip that comes back rejected puts the money straight back - so the downside of trying something odd is your time, not your money.

  • Text to video only - you describe it, you do not upload a starting image
  • 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 and 4:3, chosen per clip
  • 10, 15, 20 or 30 seconds depending on the model
  • Rendering continues after you close the tab

Every version

Six ways to buy one clip.

The same two models at different lengths. Price is per finished video and never changes with the length of your prompt or how many attempts the engine makes internally.

Higgsfield resells Seedance too, which makes this a straight comparison rather than a guess. Their plans are below, priced by their own published figures for how many Seedance videos each one buys.

Nothing to cancel

There is no monthly charge to forget about. A month where you make nothing costs you nothing.

Your balance does not expire

Subscription credits reset every month and the unused ones are gone. Money you put here stays until you spend it.

You are not buying a bundle

Their credits also buy image models and other video engines. If Seedance is what you came for, most of that is paid for and unused.

Higgsfield prices are their monthly rates as published on higgsfield.ai/pricing, checked September 2026, and the video counts are their own estimates. Paying a year in advance lowers their rates - Max works out around $0.74 a video that way, still several times this. Their plans include things ours does not, including unlimited use of some other models, and a subscription may well suit you better if you want all of it. Prices change; check theirs before deciding.

Writing the prompt

Describe the camera, not just the thing.

The single biggest difference between a clip that works and one that does not is whether you said how it was filmed. These are the four parts worth including, in the order they tend to matter.

  1. 01

    The shot

Low-angle, overhead, tracking, static, handheld. The model has to put a camera somewhere, and if you do not choose it will choose something forgettable.

  2. 02

    The subject, doing something

Not a vintage motorcycle, but a vintage motorcycle leaning into a bend. Verbs give a video model something to animate; nouns on their own tend to produce a photograph that happens to move.

  3. 03

    The light

Dusk, overcast, hard midday sun, neon on wet tarmac. Light does most of the work of making footage look expensive, and it is the cheapest thing to specify.

  4. 04

    One texture word

Grainy, glossy, hazy, crisp. One is plenty. Stacking five adjectives tends to average them out rather than combine them.

A prompt with all four

Low-angle tracking shot of a vintage motorcycle leaning through a coastal bend at dusk, warm rim light off the sea, grainy 35mm

Shot, subject doing something, light, one texture word. Roughly twenty words. Longer prompts are not better prompts - past a point the model starts averaging your instructions instead of following them.

Questions

About Seedance, and about us.

What is Seedance?

Seedance is a text-to-video model made by ByteDance and offered through Dreamina. You describe a shot in a sentence and it renders a short video from that description. Clipaxy runs it for you and bills per clip, so you do not need a Dreamina account or a subscription of your own.

What is the difference between Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5?

2.0 is the faster and cheaper of the two and is the sensible choice while you are still working out what to ask for. 2.5 holds motion together better, which matters when the camera moves or the subject does something complicated, and it is the only one that goes beyond 15 seconds.

How long can a Seedance clip be?

On Clipaxy, 10, 15, 20 or 30 seconds, depending on which model you pick. The length is fixed per model rather than something you set, so the price is known before you press the button.

Do I need a subscription to use Seedance?

Not here. You add money to a balance and each video draws from it. Nothing renews and nothing expires. If a render fails you are refunded in full, automatically.

What aspect ratios does Seedance support?

On Clipaxy every model supports 9:16 for vertical feeds, 16:9 for landscape, 1:1 for square and 4:3. You choose the ratio when you write the prompt.

Why is Seedance cheaper here than on a subscription site?

Because you are only buying the video. Subscription sites bundle Seedance with image models and other video engines, and charge monthly whether you generate anything or not. On Higgsfield's own published figures their cheapest per-video rate works out near $0.99, and their entry plan does not include Seedance 2.5 at all. Here a Seedance 2.0 clip is $0.11 and there is no monthly charge. If you want the whole bundle, a subscription may suit you better.

Is Clipaxy made by ByteDance or Dreamina?

No. Clipaxy is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of ByteDance or Dreamina. We sell access to the model and hand you the finished file.
